From Paris to Tokyo... and now Montreal:
our passion for the art of bread continues!


Hi,
we are Kenji (健二👨) and Sayaka (明夏👩), a couple passionate about baking!
Our adventure began in Paris, where Kenji was brushing up his craft as a sous chef at Christophe Vasseur's famous bakery Du Pain et des Idées, while Sayaka was pursuing a Master's degree in translation. United by our passion for French culinary culture, we got married and made our dream come true: opening our own bakery in Japan.
In 2016, Boulangerie Comète was born in Tokyo. For seven and a half years, we had the privilege of delighting wonderful customers. But faced with the challenges of urban development, we had to turn the page... to better write a new one!
Today, we are in Montreal, ready to take on an exciting new challenge and share our know-how and passion with you. As the French expression that inspires us so aptly says: "Tirer des plans sur la comète" (To dream big and dare). And we are more than ready to do it here! See you soon!
